The Soldiers' Memorial
"To these we owe the high resolve that the cause for which they died shall live."
Benjimin F. Bayne
His father, Maud Bayne, seems to have worked in the home industry, maybe something to do with painting houses. He was widowed. Benjamin had a sister named Gracie Bayne and there was a man who lived with the Baynes named John W. Waters, who was a painter and handyman. I could not find his mother's name. Benjamin was a PFC in the 121st Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division. He died on July 23rd, 1944 and is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart. Plot F. Row 14. Grave 17. |
